My bank account, my weight, and the car I drive don’t define me…and yours shouldn’t either

You know that comparison is the thief of joy… Do this instead

Instead of comparing your life to people you see in the highly curated, filtered and edited images on Instagram— Trying being best friends with yourself.

Turn off social media. Start a journal. Write down your unique strengths and character traits in it. Document your life story… Remember why YOU ARE SPECIAL.

Mantra: I am enough.

Instead of feeling like you will never get to the next level—comparing yourself to successful, well-respected co-workers or other figures… TRY BEING BEST FRIENDS WITH YOURSELF.

Think about your achievements – big and small and celebrate them. Think about your grand vision – where do you want to go? Recognize that life is a journey. Everyone’s journey has a beginning and starts with a single step forward.

Mantra: I am becoming….

Become your own best friend. Love yourself. Embrace your strengths AND your weaknesses, your light side and your dark side.

Treat yourself as highly as you would your best friend. Accept yourself through any situation as fiercely as you would your best friend.

Your feelings of inadequacy will fade. You will still compare yourself to others… But when you compare yourself to another human, your approach will be from a place of genuine curiosity.

Become friends with the people you used to envy. Transform envy to mutual respect and admiration.

As CHEEZY as this may sound, it is the TRUTH and you know it too.

Here are 3 additional POWER MANTRAS to save for when you need them:

I was Born to be the First <INSERT YOUR NAME>

I am my own Best Friend

You Don’t Define Me. I Define Me.

I was Born to be the First <INSERT YOUR NAME>

You Don’t Define Me. I Define Me.

I am reminding you this today, because sometimes you just need to hear it again – lest we forget.
