You can learn a LOT online or at a day-long training session or conference about Capture/BD/winning contracts. But for those of us in the know– who’ve actually done this for a few years, we realize that when it comes to winning, large strategic contracts, they skip a few lessons in the text book. Here’s what they DON’T teach you how to handle in a classroom, breakout session, or textbook…

-What to do when you’re simply not qualified OR you’re late to the game–but someone (either the Boss or one of the Leads) is still PUSHING HARD to go after it…

-There’s some REALLY funky evaluation criteria that has everybody scratching their heads, and everyone has a different opinion on what it means…

-You’re heavily reliant on a partner (either your subs–or–if you’re subbing, your prime), and they let you down. They just disappear as soon as the Teaming Agreement is signed and the RFP is out and you can’t get a single thing out of them.

OH and there are many, many more… But you don’t know it, unless you’ve lived it.

I’ve actually lived it, And I have a few tricks up my sleeve when these situations inevitably occur. Do you want to learn what I’ve picked up over the last 18 years winning contracts in this GovCon industry? If so, hit REPLY and let me know what YOU are dealing with right now, that you can’t google and isn’t covered in any textbook. I may be able to help…
